The heart of her husband trusts in her, and he will have no lack of gain (Proverbs 14:1).
As I read over this verse early in the morning I tried to think of some practical way to apply it in my life. I don't know if there is any one thing I can tell you to do because every man and every marriage is different, so I decided to leave it to you.
Now, this challenge isn't only open to married women, this could be a perfect opportunity to renew your relationship with our Savior. I thought of including all of the single women because one of my friends expressed interest in participating in order to prepare her for the day she will be a married woman. So, feel free to take part no matter what your situation is at the moment.
What's important to my husband is quality time with me. When he gets home from work/school he feels blessed when I am able to give him my attention for a few minutes, at least. So, this week I am going to try to use the time he is away during the day more wisely so that I'm prepared for him when he gets home. Sometimes that might mean sitting down for a few minutes to clear my head so I'm not stressed when he comes home, or it might mean cooking dinner earlier in the day so it's not on my to-do list. Whatever it is, I want to try to consider him when I make my decisions about how to spend my day.
I love my husband, and he loves for me to have carved out time for him in my day; to have considered his needs while I took care of daily tasks. This is what he needs to have no lack of gain...
It's a good reminder too... Do I consider the Lord while making decisions about how to spend my time? Do I waste time on me that could be used to do His work? Do I carve out time for Him every day even if it means sacrificing what I want to do or accomplish?
What will you do this week to become the Proverbs 31 Woman?
